A Week in the Life at Swoco Studio

Every week looks a little different here, but one thing stays consistent: we’re always focused on helping our clients make smart, sustainable marketing decisions. Here’s a glimpse into a recent week where we worked with businesses across industries- a tarot business, a music school, an artist, a hairstylist, and two jewelers- each with unique goals and challenges.

Referral for the Tarot Business

We received an inquiry from a spiritual business offering tarot readings, energy work, and similar services. They wanted support with paid ads and SEO to drive traffic. However, Meta currently has restrictions on running ads for tarot and similar services, and we don’t feel comfortable navigating those gray areas- it’s just not how we work.

Instead, we referred them to a trusted colleague who specializes in compliance-focused strategies for spiritual businesses. While we couldn’t take on the project, we made sure they had the right resources to move forward ethically and effectively.

A Blog for a Hairstylist

A long-time hairstylist client reached out about writing a blog on the after-effects of popular weight-loss shots like Ozempic and Wegovy on hair health. This is exactly the kind of thoughtful, niche content we love creating! We are working on a blog that balances education and engagement, helping her speak directly to her audience while boosting her website’s SEO. One-off blogs like this are a great way to provide value while keeping your site fresh. (We only offer one-off blog services to former and current clients.)

Strategic Guidance for a Music School

Midweek, we worked with a client from the education industry- an international music school- who needed to quickly promote their enrollment page ahead of their admissions season. While they wanted a fast turnaround, we recognized that their real need was a strong marketing foundation for their upcoming full website launch.

They needed us to create a temporary landing page optimized for their enrollment CTA and outline a strategic plan for future SEO and ads once their site was ready. However, given the time-sensitive nature of their request, we also referred them to a colleague who specializes in short-term, high-impact ad campaigns. This ensured their immediate goals were met while leaving the door open for future collaboration with us on long-term strategies.

A Proposal for an Artist

We worked with a fine artist looking to set up targeted ads and landing pages for their work. This is a former coaching client of ours whom we have worked with on and off for a few years now. For this client, we offered two options: a one-time ad setup with creative guidance for $3,000 or ongoing management for $1,200/month. We emphasized the importance of consistent testing and realistic expectations- ads take time to optimize, especially in creative industries. This project highlights our ability to create customized strategies that respect both the client’s goals and their budget.

Supporting Two Jewelry Clients

To close out the week, we found ourselves in two very different stages with jewelry clients. First, we started the offboarding process for a jewelry maker client we have had for a few months who’s relocating to the opposite coast. She’s pausing her SEO services during the move but sent her mother- a flower pot business owner- our way as a new client. The gratitude we feel for referrals like this can’t be overstated.

Second, we wrapped up a blog for a custom jeweler who’s been with us for four years. This piece focused on timeless design trends and was part of their ongoing content strategy to educate and inspire their audience. These moments remind us why we value long-term relationships with clients who trust us to help them grow.

What This Week Taught Us

  • Whether you’re launching a website, running ads, or diving into SEO, foundational marketing cannot be rushed. It’s about creating a structure that supports sustainable growth, not just quick wins.

  • When a project doesn’t align with our expertise or timeline, we’re committed to connecting clients with trusted colleagues who can help. Collaboration over competition is key.

  • From managing expectations to presenting custom proposals, our goal is always to create a process that feels thoughtful and supportive for everyone involved.

  • Seeing long-time clients refer family or entrust us with ongoing projects is the ultimate compliment and what drives us to keep showing up.

What It’s Like to Work with Us

When you reach out to Swoco, you’re not just getting a marketing plan; you’re getting a thoughtful, personalized approach designed to help you grow sustainably. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. The Initial Inquiry: You tell us about your goals, your struggles, and where you need support. No need to have all the answers; we’re here to help clarify what makes sense for your business.

  2. Custom Proposals: We don’t do one-size-fits-all. Whether you need a website revamp, SEO, ads, or ongoing blog support, we create packages that align with your needs and priorities.

  3. Email Communication: We prefer to work via email because it gives everyone time to think, ask questions, and avoid rushed decisions. It’s also a great way to keep everything documented.

  4. Realistic Expectations: Marketing is a process, not a magic wand. We’ll be honest about what’s possible, how long it will take, and the kind of results you can expect.

Your marketing foundation is the base that everything else builds on. It’s the SEO that helps your audience find you, the website structure that guides them to take action, and the content that nurtures trust over time. Rushing this process doesn’t work- but doing it thoughtfully and intentionally does.

If this approach sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d love to chat! Reach out, and let’s figure out how we can support your business in a way that feels aligned and sustainable.
