We made it 6 years in business. Wouldya look at that!

We got engaged 2 months after dating, and got married a month later. Atlas arrived 11 months after that. And we have shared numerous business moves with you over the last few years. We’ve always been a little unconventional. People are used to biting their tongue around us- we show up once every 6 months with a big announcement- a new business or a new kid. Well.. you are reading this, so you don’t seem to mind.

Six years ago, on October 3, 2018, while working regular jobs (Mike in quality control, and me as a nanny), we launched what would become our first business—Foxx and Luna. It was a mix of e-commerce magic, crystals, art, and guided meditations. We’d host healing sessions in our living room, selling handmade oil rollers to our friends. Back then, it was more of a side hustle—a passion project. We had no clue it would grow into something that would not only sustain us but also evolve into a full-blown career.

Then Atlas was born in September 2019. That’s when life threw our marriage the first curveball. Atlas was diagnosed with craniosynostosis—a condition where the bones in his skull fused too early. He needed major surgery to remove part of his skull so his brain could develop properly. Our employer health insurance declined the claim and refused to pay. I’ll never forget the anxiety and stress of those months leading up to his surgery. As parents, there’s nothing scarier than watching your child go through something so intense, but we knew we had to make it work. We had to be flexible, and traditional work wasn’t going to cut it, especially since the benefits we work for weren’t benefitting us.

Foxx and Luna became our full-time gig—because it had to be. It gave us the flexibility to be there for Atlas while still supporting our family. But that wasn’t the end of the challenges. Atlas was later diagnosed with X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD), a rare genetic disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. Every MRI was nerve-wracking, waiting to hear if things had progressed. Five years wondering if we would have to face the ultimate worst nightmare with our kid. But we have big news and that’s what has caused the shift: recently, Atlas’s MRI came back clear. It was the news we’d been hoping for. Tbh, I was happy but also immediately thrown into grief over what we had lost for 5 years. The anxiety. The dread. The inability to spend any time at all away from my kid. Grief over the families that would get the news we feared. Once we processed that, the clean MRI gave us clarity to think bigger, dream bigger—because we had been holding our breath for so long. Age 5 is typically when this disease takes hold, and it seems like we are likely in the 10% of non-disease causing genetic mutation patients. And that’s where our second business comes in, but more on that in a minute.

Business Rebrand + Expanddd baby!

In 2020, we expanded our offerings under a second brand- Sugar Witch Official.   We offered  social media management services for small businesses. But as things evolved, we realized that we needed to hone in on a more strategic, sustainable path. Social media management wasn’t enough—it was time to go deeper.

By the time Archer was born in November 2022, we knew we couldn’t juggle Foxx and Luna, social media management, and family life all at once. So, we said goodbye to the shop, let go of social media as our main focus, and rebranded Sugar Witch Official into what Swoco Studio is today. We niched down to what we’re great at: SEO, optimized ads, blogs, and landing pages. In other words, sustainable marketing strategies that actually help businesses grow.

Our Services

These days we focus on sustainable strategies for our clients. Strategies that allow them to step back from socials if they need to. Strategies that set up a solid foundation for consistent sales for the long term.

Want to Know About Some of Our Current Clients?

Each business we work with gets a strategy that reflects their soul, their mission and connects them with their ideal clients.

  1. Creative Product-Based Businesses (Jewelry, Gifts, and Art) - we work with a few of these! (New Jersey, Florida, Texas)
Services: Paid ads, retargeting ads, blogs, SEO, Optimized landing pages, marketing strategy consulting
-Creatives don’t want to be brought down by the realities of marketing and business ownership. We all know this stunts creativity. Their products are deeply connected to their soul and their buyers. Paid ads attract the right audience.  Retargeting ads bring customers back to the items they were drawn to, reminding them of the joy and connection these products can bring. Blogs and landing pages further nurture ad traffic and search engine visitors. Watching their ROAS increase is great, but watching our artist friends be able to express their voice (and pay their bills) is everything.

  2. Nonprofit Lean Education Organization- online workshops and summits  (Massachusetts)
Services: Paid ads, retargeting ads, marketing strategy consulting
    -
Retargeting ads for reconnecting with the people who have already shown interest but haven’t taken the next step. Whether they visited the site to check out leadership programs or browsed their on-demand courses, we use retargeting to gently nudge them back. These ads aren’t about pushing— they’re about reminding people of the value they already saw and inviting them to re-engage.

  3. Family-Owned Jewelry Store (Washington state)
Services: SEO, SEO blogs, marketing strategy, paid ads, optimized landing pages
-Our SEO strategy and blog content increase their visibility ONLINE so the owner can someday retire her physical locations and live in Hawaii like she wants. The Birth of our second business

Remember how I said Atlas’s recent MRI came back clear? That moment opened up a bucket of creative energy that had been quietly blocked and stuffed down while we waited to hear if our baby would be spared from the heartbreak that is XALD. For so long, we have been in survival mode—managing his health, growing Swoco, and raising our boys. But with the weight lifted, we feel ready to step into a new creative project.

Our second business is the next chapter. While it’s not public or live yet, it’s going to be a brand that merges all the things we love—art, magic, creativity. It’s an extension of our soul and everything we’ve been building. It’s our way of returning to the magic that started with Foxx and Luna, but with a deeper, more evolved energy.

Why We’re Thriving, Despite the Doubts

People have doubted us. Friends have dropped us -maybe even rightfully so- we haven’t always had the time or energy to give friendships while we dealt with the medical stuff and built our businesses.  We’ve heard the comments—"Another business?! What now?" followed by the eye rolls and the mocking. But what they didn’t understand is that our ability to pivot and evolve and keep our heads down and focused is exactly why we’re still here. Our businesses are a reflection of who we are, and as we’ve grown and changed, so have they. And, lucky for us, our businesses have given us some of the best friends and community we could have ever dreamed of.

We didn’t take the traditional path. We didn’t stick to one business model or one brand. And that’s exactly why we’re still standing—thriving, actually.

As we celebrate six years of business ownership, we’re grateful for every challenge and every opportunity. Every supporter and every client and every referral. This journey has been about more than just work—it’s been about creating a life that allows us to be there for Atlas (and Archer), to nurture our family, and to share our passions with the world.

Here’s to the next chapter.
